The Team:

Reliant believes in having a small team of stars rather than having "bodies to throw at the problem". We stand behind all of our people.

Neil McGuire

My programming experience dates back 15 years to the discovery of a book entitled “How to Write Your Own Computer Games in BASIC” with which I discovered that writing the program was more fun than actually playing the game. Since I was 9 yrs old at the time, programming shaped my logic circuits, creating me as the freak that I am today. It wasn’t long to move on from BASIC to other, tougher marks, like VBA, Perl, Java, Javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, VB.NET, C#, ASP.NET, and a bunch of other acronyms.

My wife has been very supportive through the two and a half years we have been married, nodding and smiling when I dive into “Of course! That Sub needs to handle Me.Load!” and the like. Of course, after a bit of time, she’s now understanding more than she would ever admit to.

I graduated from college with a Bachelors of Science in Actuarial Science, though have yet to do anything with it, as I much prefer programming to statistics. I have been professionally developing applications and websites for the past three years, and have a tendency to take it a bit further than is probably healthy.

I love programming because I get to see the computer do things specifically because I told it to. There isn’t much that’s more invigorating than a good late-night coding session with pizza and root beer. Of course, being on a good team helps a lot. That’s why I am so excited to be a part of the team here at Reliant.
