I’m definitely a “newbie” here at Reliant. I’ve got John beat as far as being the “youngest person in our shop.” This is my first programming job, and I love it. I’ve learned so much in just a couple of months. It’s great working with people who are TRUE coders, and I guess cool people. =P Just kidding. The people at Reliant are wonderful individuals, and it’s an honor to have the opportunity to work with them.<
I’m currently a senior at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and am hoping to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Information Systems by May of 2009. Like most programmers, my interest for coding began when I was young. I started creating web pages with old school HTML and dabbled with a little bit of Front Page during a summer job. I didn’t dive in to coding until I graduated high school. I’ve got about three years of experience with C++ under my belt as well as some knowledge of assembly language, C, Visual C++, Visual Basic, and Java. Reliant has definitely shaped my C# skills as well as convinced me that C# is the way to go! I’m also just starting to gain a foundation in databases—working with MSSQL and PostgreSQL. There are definitely a lot more things I need to learn, and I’m eager to see how much I will have learned in a year or years from now.
There is nothing more gratifying than the feeling you get when you finish a computer program. Besides coding, I get an adrenaline rush out of playing tennis, billiards, softball/baseball, and going to spin class. I love listening to music, and when I say I LOVE it, I mean, I can listen to any song you throw at me and appreciate something about it. I’m a big TV show addict. I love The Office, Friends, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, and The Hills. Yes, I said it. The Hills. HAHA!
