My technical career started at a small company in the San Francisco Bay Area. I started off with design, code, and QA work. As a Product Specialist, I traveled to customer sites to perform installations, upgrades, and onsite-training. Some of these customer sites included the Mayo Clinic, Hewlett Packard, and the Appleton Medical Center. I really enjoyed this position; not only did I get our programs up and running for our customers, I also got to see how they actually used it in their daily work. This position truly offered the insight into the “user’s view” and how our software can be improved. Seeing the customer’s use of an application further drives my desire to design and code that application.
I took time off to take care of my kids full-time. Now that they are in school, I have found the opportunity to get back into full-time, hands-on coding – something I missed during my time away.
Here at Reliant, I am working with C#, content-management systems, and web development. I feel very fortunate to be here, where I get to be a part of an incredible team of programmers who are smart and fun to work with.
